Snowflake Challenge: Day 7

Fandom Snowflake Challenge banner

Day 7

In your own space, share a favorite piece of original canon (a TV episode, a song, a favorite interview, a book, a scene from a movie, etc) and explain why you love it so much. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

Harry Potter - Oh it's so hard to choose my favorite bit of HP canon, honestly. There's so much of it. I love when Hermione found Crookshanks and took him home. I loved Buckbeak. I love the Weasleys (well, mostly ;) ). There's so much of it, I'm not sure I can choose one part firmly.

StarGate SG-1 - My absolute all time favorite episode of all time is Window of Opportunity, which is the time loop episode in Season 4. Most of my favorite episodes seem to be in Season 4, though given I don't own any of the later seasons, well... But that episode made so much squee for me, and I can watch it over and over again.

The Dresden Files - My favorite book in the series so far is Dead Beat. Sue is my absolute favorite bit of canon, and I will love her til the day I die.

I have so many other favorite little moments in all my favorite things, but these are some of my all time faves.

I totally agree - Window of Opportunity is brilliant. It's one of my all time favourite episodes, too.
Much as I like the lighter tone of the later seasons, I generally prefer the earlier seasons of SG-1, too. I love the original team, plus Janet is there as well.

Yes, team fic is the best, as are a lot of the earlier episodes. Granted I've not seen a lot of the later stuff in years, and will eventually get it, but season 4 is especially full of the good stuff.

I love Dead Beat so much. I read it several times unlike the others in the series (I enjoy the series, just don't generally reread, unlike my husband who read them several times). I love Butters.

Dead Beat is the best. I'm going to start my reread for the latest book there, I think, since I've not reread the ones after that hardly at all. And it's my favorite, so I'll start off strong ;)

Also agreed on Dead Beat and Sue! :D

Sue is the awesomest EVER.

I've just started watching Stargate SG-1.

Netflix is making it possible to watch stuff pretty much as we read stuff - in chunks when we want to, and on the recommendation of friends.

Oh, Stargate is one of my absolute favorite shows ever! I'm not as fond of the last couple of seasons, but oh, the show as a whole is fabulous! I do so hope you enjoy the journey as much as I did.

And now I'm feeling the urge to read Harry Potter and watch SG1. Neither of these are necessarily bad things. :)

Hee! Both perfectly awesome things, in my opinion! Stargate has long been a favorite, and so has HP. Hogwarts will always be my home.

I definitely have to add Dresden Files to my reading list.

Gelseygelsey on January 10th, 2016 01:17 pm (UTC)
You should! They keep getting better as they go. Dead Beat will always be my fave though.

Anything by Butcher is fantastic though. I'm pumped about his new steampunk series, and I loved his high fantasy series.
