Snowflake Challenge: Day 2

Fandom Snowflake Challenge banner

Day 2

In your own space, create a list of at least three fannish things you'd love to receive, something you've wanted but were afraid to ask for - a fannish wish-list of sorts. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your wish-list if you feel comfortable doing so. Maybe someone will grant a wish. Check out other people's posts. Maybe you will grant a wish.

Mostly in the same vein as last year. Not completely fannish.

1. I’d love fanart of pretty much anything I’ve ever written. I think in images a lot, and a few people have said some of my imagery is good, but I have no fanart. Masterlist of masterlists

2. More people reading and leaving reviews. Not just of my fics, but of anything you read. Comments are love. Kudos are nice, but they’re not the same.

3. In the same vein as above, comment on people’s entries. It’s one of my goals for the year, same as pretty much every year – let people know you’re there, instead of lurking. Not all the time, but sometimes.

4. Consider reading thigns outside your box/your typical pairings/etc. You’d really be surprised, I think. Especially if you already like the author's stuff. I've read some brilliant stuff I didn't think I'd like to start with, by doing this.

5. A new layout. Mine is so old now.

I did Snowflake for the first time last year and what I really took with me was to comment more, bot on posts and fic. I have found that very rewarding. :)

It really is important. It's so easy to get discouraged when nobody replies to you, whether in fic or in posts. Even if people read, you don't know it if they don't say anything. I hate speaking to a void. It's so rewarding on both ends, I think. And I really love conversations.

Absolutely. I would write regardless, but if I never got any feedback, i would stop posting it. My fic aeading rate has slowed down a lot since I decided to Always comment, but I think I have made the day for a lot of people. After all, I know a nice comment always makes my day. :)

It only takes a moment, and it definitely makes someone's day. Even if it's a "how cute" or "I really liked that" with no specifics. Someone read it and took the time to comment. I try to always thank people for doing that. I've had a simple comment make my day more than once.

I tried doing the snowflake challenge last year and gave up because... I had to look back at last year's challenge and it was because I was sick and lost interest in all the topics after day seven.

I would also love to change my layout but the only format I can stand is the one I have. It allows me to keep the comment pages the same and still keep the old friends list instead of the stupid /feed thing.

That's the beauty of the challenge - do or do not as interested :)

Oh yeah, I've kept this format for... years and years. What I'd really like is for someone to make me a new header and tell me what colors to change the different sections too. It's time consuming though and last time I had someone do it all for me. I still refuse to change to the new format. Until they force me I'll keep it this way.

I'm here! I'm commenting!

Now I'm going to go read some fics and comment on those! \o/

It's amazing what you find, isn't it?

Comments are good. I try to, even if I'm not in depth sometimes.

I don't, but obviously I should. I like random things.
