A/N: Written for why_me_why_not. I hope it makes sense, my friend, as it is set in my RP AU.
She deserved boxes of chocolates, bouquets of flowers, fancy dinners out and a wealth of jewels. Once, Blaise could have given Pansy all of those things and more. Now all he had to offer was a tattered and mended second-hand cloak, a mostly clean and uninfested place to sleep, and a strong set of arms to keep her safe with.
It wasn’t much. In any other world but this one, it wouldn’t be enough for her. Pansy had always been a lady of means and style. But ever since the Muggleborn Ministry, as it had been so cleverly dubbed, had risen and started rounding up purebloods, what he had was enough.
Especially since Theo was so busy organizing the resistance. Blaise participated, but Theo possessed a single-minded drive to free them all. Blaise admired it, and yes, even depended on it. Theo would be the one to free them from this hell hole of a ghetto camp. But that didn’t mean Blaise wasn’t going to take advantage of Theo’s absence to connect with Pansy again.
Even if he couldn’t woo her in the style she—and he—were accustomed to.
“Bon appétit,” Blaise said with a flourish. A simple but full meal was laid on a cloak up on the roof, lavish for the time and place—soup, bread, meat and veggie, and fruit. He’d hoarded and bargained for enough food chits to buy all of it.
It wasn’t a fancy restaurant or gourmet faire, but the way Pansy’s eyes lit up and she clapped her hands when she saw it made the effort almost better than what he could have provided, once upon a time.
