Snowflake Challenge: Day 1

Fandom Snowflake Challenge banner

Day 1

In your own space, post a rec for at least three fanworks that you have created. It can be your favorite fanworks that you've created, or fanworks you feel no one ever saw, or fanworks you say would define you as a creator. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

1. Third Star to the Right
Ten years after the war, Severus Snape is declared legally dead despite the lack of body, and Hermione Granger is given the responsibility of dealing with his estate by being the only member of the Order of the Phoenix willing to do so. But at Spinner’s End, she finds a book on a child’s bloodstained bed: a copy of Peter and Wendy. When she somehow falls into the story, can she and Captain Snape find a way back out?
Severus Snape/Hermione Granger. My first pairing and the one where most of my friends still live. I’m proud of several of my SS/HG fics, but this is probably the chief one.

2. The Heart Only Breaks When It’s Beating
Jim Kirk's heart has always led him well, a steady beat of his own internal drummer. He's forced to break it, however, and the consequences are more devastating than he expected.
Kirk/Spock reboot fic. I’m actually really proud of all of my Star Trek fic. Most of it virtually wrote itself, and each is different. I’ve even done humor! But this one and I Am Not Your Child both broke my heart a bit writing them, like I suspect all the best fics do.

3. A Pressing Conspiracy
Severus Snape is hired by the Ministry to investigate The Quibbler and its owner-editor, Luna Lovegood. He finds much more than he ever expected.
Severus Snape/Luna Lovegood. It and my other SS/LL fics are both matters of some small pride – this one because it’s probably my only mystery, and the other (Chiaroscuro) for stylistic reasons. This one also amused me a great deal, and shows how much I love The Dresden Files, I suspect.

Though to be honest, there are a lot of my Harry Potter fandom fics that I love to look back on. I was good at short fic – especially the stuff I wrote for Romancing the Wizard. So I think some of those are worth the read, even if the pairings aren’t typical.

I'm not usually good at promoting myself, and there are a lot of fics I've written that I actually enjoy reading again. But most are short, and I like them for different reasons, so if you'd like to explore them and maybe leave me a comment or two, I'd love to hear from you.
