Still alive, and at least skimming the flist. The month of October is officially FAILED for being awful. This year owes me a massive refund.

I won't get into it as I don't want to rant at everyone. Just so tired. And out of it a bit.

First craft swap was a success, and I'm doing a lot more crafting than before. I'm teaching myself to embroider. Eventually I'm going to have to find someone experienced to talk to about things. I have so many ideas for things though. This and rp are apparently my only real creative outlets for my brain right now. Other writing just isn't happening. I do have a few ideas for an letter game type book or two, but I need to pegs.use my thoughts a bit more on that too.

Hope you're all doing well <3

In my f-list, the go-to person for embroidery is zafania. She does awsome work. See http://opusanglicanum.wordpress.com/

Good to know. I'm at the point where I think I just have stupid beginner questions lol . Will have to check out her work.

Unfortunately, sign-ups end tomorrow, and I don't think that's enough time to talk you into it. Although... needlebook... ;)

Ooooh. Didn't see that one.

But what would I make you?! *flail* my skills are not near yours in range or depth heh.
Goddess of Potholes and Puddlessmeddley on October 21st, 2011 02:15 am (UTC)
You would SO not say that if you could have seen the back of my cross-stitch piece!

DO IT WITH ME!

I can think of LOTS of things you could make, but you really only need two - potholders on your loom (I think those would be awesome) and a cross-stitch piece that says 'minions wanted, must have own broom' (I would even provide a pattern!).

DO IT!

DO IT!

What size are potholders, typically? *thinks about yarn types*

Give me the pattern and sure, I'll do it :D can put in my questionaire in the morning. Would you want it to frame?

Yay! I will put in my questionnaire... probably tonight. I'm not so good at doing things in the morning. And tomorrow will be a stressful day for me. Eeeeep!

Potholders vary, I tend to go for smaller ones because I have smaller hands. You basically want it to fit (and fill) the space from your fingertips to your thumb if you hold your hand in a C. On me that's just over 6".

No, I'll put in in one when it gets here, might as well keep it light! I have a ton of frames I've picked up here and there, need stuff to fill them...

EDIT: Whoa, that was the shortest questionnaire EVER!

I'm on my phone tonight as I'm at work, so it will have to be in the morning as I don't want to fight with copy paste.

Oh noes stressful? :(

Hmm k. I'll make a variety. And try to find appropriate yarns. Mum might know something about that.

BTW I was going to ask for your help with something. I have this pattern for a small bag like thing, and I want to make a much bigger bag just like it.

Cool stuff then. I can do that. I even have the cross stitch cloth right now, in anticipation of a couple of projects.

Hehe, I had noticed it.looked short...

Oh man, I know what you mean about C&P on a phone. SO FREAKIN' ANNOYING. I haven't really tried on my new phone, but on the old one it was impossible (not just hard, impossible) to select anything on a web page. I could (with some effort) copy things I typed into text boxes and whatnot, but still.

Any yarn works for me. I know people say you can't use acrylic, because it melts... but that's only if you set it on fire. I have an old set of potholders I made out of regular yarn and they've done fine. All I need them to do is insulate a bit, not fight forest fires!

Stressful because we have a bellydance show, and I'm dancing a group dance AND a duet. Pirate and zombie. Wheee!

Sewing bag or crochet bag? I'm sure we can make it bigger!

(Ha, I was even going to offer just to send you a cross-stitch kit I have... how do you feel about pillowcases?... because I have a ton of stuff I'm never going to get around to...)

I can do it, but its long and tedious and difficult.

Mmkay that helps a lot then. I have plenty of yarn right now. Colors? I have a 4 inch and a 2 inch loom, so there's an array of possibilities of how to put them together.

Oooh that sounds interesting.

Crochet. Mum can teach me to read the pattern, I just want to size it up to a purse sized bag of some size.

Send it on. It can go in the queue. I like pillow cases, never worked one before though so should be interesting.

Do you do any kind of knitting or crocheting? If so, I know a great website community for yarn projects. :)
Gelseygelsey on October 21st, 2011 01:34 am (UTC)
I do crochet a bit, still haven't learned again how to knit.
